There is currently no legislation that stipulates the maximum height for a trailer. Clearly, the higher your trailer relative to the track of its wheels, the more unstable it will be. Go too high and you will strike a bridge!
The stated kerb weight of a vehicle often allows for a driver and a tank of fuel. Therefore the actual weight of the car on your trailer may be quite a bit less than the stated kerb weight.
