If you do not have breakdown recovery insurance then keep the phone number of a couple of local recovery companies in the glovebox of your car. Then, in the event of your vehicle encountering problems you wil have the numbers to hand.
You can no longer get away with a hand written number plate on a piece of card. The police are likely to stop you if you do. The number plate attached to your trailer must be correctly styled and numbered according to UK law.

If you have broken down and do not have AA or RAC breakdown cover then simply select your town or county and you will be provided with a list of Recovery Operators in your area. Even better, write down a few numbers and keep them safe in your cars glovebox in case of an emergency!
