Any car transporter trailer should be fitted with a hitch that includes an overrun brake mechanisim. Make sure that this mechanism is functioning correctly (Not Seized) and keep it well lubricated.
It is perfectly legal for your load to overhang the rear end of your trailer. However, if the overhang is over 1m it should be marked with a bright flag. Go over 2m and you will require an illuminated marker board.
Anybody know any tracks with a relaxed attitude to practice days? I have been to Camberley and although everybody was nice and helpful it was all quite formal and busy so not much track time. If you have broken down and do not have AA or RAC breakdown cover then simply select your town or county and you will be provided with a list of Recovery Operators in your area. Even better, write down a few numbers and keep them safe in your cars glovebox in case of an emergency!
