You do not necessarily require a very large electric winch to recover cars onto your transporter. Smaller 4x4 style winches will do the job but be aware that the drum speed may be much slower than that of a larger winch.
Most comprehensive insurance policies will cover your trailer 3rd party whilst it is being towed by your car, but not all will. It is your responsibility to contact your insurers and check that you are fully covered before taking your trailer on the road.
