It is far cheaper to buy breakdown cover in advance from one of the major providers (AA, RAC, Green Flag etc) than to have to pay for recovery when your car actually stops at the edge of the road. You can obtain breakdown cover for as little as £30.
If you are using a passenger car with a GVW of less than 3.5 Tonnes then the maximum length of the trailer you can tow is 7m excluding the coupling a drawbar. You are unlikely to exceed this except in the most unusual circumstances.

If so then you can arrange for the car to be collected and delivered to your door by using a professional car delivery company. Write down the contact numbers for a few of the firms listed and give them a ring to see how their quotes compare!
