There is currently no legislation that stipulates the maximum height for a trailer. Clearly, the higher your trailer relative to the track of its wheels, the more unstable it will be. Go too high and you will strike a bridge!
When purchasing a car transporter trailer try and get a twin axle model if at all possible. Twin axle trailers are more stable, they can take a heavier load and if you have a puncture the remaining tyre on that side can get you home if necessary.
The name Swaffham is said to have derived from Old English and means The Homestead of the Swabians. It is not a large town with nearly 7000 inhabitants but Swaffham has a long and colourful history. I have recently seen several very large boats being towed by 4x4 on the UK's motorway network. To me they looked too big for a normal car to tow. One was on a boat trailer with three axles!
