The maximum speed you can travel on UK motorway or dual carriageway with a trailer is 60mph. This assumes that there are no road works or other speed limits in force (i.e. 30mph restrictions), the fastest you travel on single carriageway is 50mph.
If your tow vehicle has a GVW of less than 3.5 tonnes then the maximum permissible weight of any trailer you pull will also be 3.5 tonnes. This is only applicable if the trailer is fitted with either an overrun or electrical braking system.
