Brake Caliper
As on all modern 50c and 49cc twist and go scooters and motorbikes, chinese imported honda style clones use a front disk brake system for the best braking performance.
The front disk brakes rely on a hydraulic caliper to apply force to the disk when the brake lever is pulled on. The brake calipers vary in size depending on the size and power of the
motorcycle, but most QMB139 50cc scooter clones use the same basic brake caliper.
How to Overhaul a 50cc Scooter Front Brake Caliper

Overhauling the Front Brake Caliper
If your imported 50c chinese scooter has been standing unused for a time, or the front brakes have been exposed to alot of weather, the front brake caliper may benefit from a basic overhaul. It is basically a case of removing, cleaning and lubricating the brake caliper so it functions efficiently. Ideally, you would use an impact wrench to undo the nut. You will require a few basic tools, cleaning and lubricating equipment and some patience.
Notes
On reassembly, ensure to lubricate the sliding parts of your chinese scooters front brake caliper. If the caliper was seized this may prevent it seizing again in the future.
The descriptions given on this page are not really a true caliper overhaul, more a lubricating and cleaning guide. Once your chinese import 50cc honda clone motorbike scooters front brake calipers have seized once, they will require regular cleaning and lubrication to prevent the brakes from seizing again.
