Generic 4 Stroke Scooters

Over the past decade the number of imported cheap Chinese 50cc scooters has increased dramatically. These scooters are fairly generic, usually based on a copy of the Honda GY6 139QMB engine and transmission.

So, why do so many people buy these scooters?


  1. Import Scooters are usually cheap to buy and run so they are very tempting. They are so cheap they are almost throw away cheap.
  2. Parts can be purchased online relatively easily.
  3. There is a good choice of styles and types to choose from to match every taste.

Why You Should NOT Buy a Chinese Import Moped

If you are reading this page then you have probably already got a Chinese 4 stroke scooter. If you haven't bought one yet then don't! They really are usually quite unreliable, the build quality and quality of the materials used in construction is terrible, the brake lever on mine actually bent when I pulled hard on the brakes!

Why not to by an import scooter


  1. Very Cheap and Unpredictable Construction and Materials.
  2. Unreliable, many dealers don't want to work on them.
  3. Slow and underpowered compared to similar Big Brand name scooters
